Family Law Solutions Without Court Conflict

Our Mission

Kayla A. Riera-Gomez, P.A. was founded to offer family law solutions that respect privacy and promote peaceful resolutions. We help clients with non-litigation matters, such as collaborative divorce, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and name changes, for a more supportive legal experience outside the courtroom.

Our Vision

Our firm is committed to helping clients navigate personal family matters with dignity and care, providing customized, non-litigation solutions that meet each individual’s needs.

What We Do

Collaborative Divorce

Collaborative divorce offers Florida families a legal, team-based approach to resolving divorce and family matters outside of court. Since the Collaborative Process Act was enacted in 2017, this method has provided couples a structured way to settle disputes—whether amicable or high-conflict—through cooperative negotiation rather than traditional litigation. With the support of a skilled team of professionals, collaborative divorce can address complex issues, including alimony, child support, and parenting plans, while fostering a respectful environment that can help avoid the stress and delays often associated with court proceedings.

Pre & Post Nuptial Agreements

We assist couples in creating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements that protect their financial interests and clarify asset rights, either before or during marriage. Our services ensure each agreement meets Florida’s legal standards, providing transparency, fairness, and peace of mind for both partners.

Establishment of Paternity

Establishing paternity in Florida is the legal process of recognizing a child’s biological father when the parents are unmarried, which allows both parents to secure rights and responsibilities, such as child support and timesharing. This process can involve genetic testing and is essential for defining parental rights, ensuring financial support, and fostering a meaningful relationship with both parents.

Name Change

In Florida, a name change petition is the formal legal process for individuals or parents seeking to legally change their own or a minor child’s name. Whether due to personal reasons, marriage, or other life changes, we assist clients in preparing and submitting the required court petition to obtain an approved name change in Florida.

Uncontested Matters

If you and your spouse, partner, or co-parent have minimal assets and have reached a mutual agreement on all major legal issues, your case may qualify as an “uncontested matter” in Florida. These cases require no additional negotiation and offer a streamlined, cost-effective way to handle legal documentation and finalize your case. Our firm provides flat-fee services for uncontested matters, from document preparation to guidance through the Uncontested Final Hearing.

Consultations

If you are seeking answers to specific family law questions without full legal representation, our firm offers consultation services designed to guide you through Florida’s family law requirements. This option is ideal if you have questions about uncontested divorces, prenuptial or postnuptial agreements, or other non-litigation family law matters. You simply pay for the time spent addressing your questions and clarifying next steps, ensuring a flexible and affordable way to access legal guidance.
